Admissions Process

We invite eighth graders to apply to Notre Dame. A parent or guardian must complete the application online.
  • If you are unable to attend our Fall Open House, please contact the Admissions Office to arrange for a private tour and meeting with the Admissions staff at 203-372-6521 or

  • Prospective students are encouraged to spend the day at Notre Dame as part of our Shadow Day Experience.  Please contact the Admissions Office to arrange this visit.

  • Application Requirements
    • Eighth grade applicants must take an entrance exam to be considered for admission.  The Entrance Exam was held in late October.  A make-up date was offered in November.
    • An Academic Release Waiver must be signed. A copy of this form will be sent to the applicant's current school to request complete seventh and first marking period eighth grade report cards.
    In addition, one letter of recommendation from one of your teachers, Principal or Guidance Counselor is required.
  • • Some applicants are also invited for an interview as part of the admissions process. ND directly contacts these students.
  • • Acceptance letters are mailed on December 15 to those accepted students whose application files are complete as of December 1.
    • A $1,000 deposit is required to secure a spot in the freshman class and should be returned by the February 1 deadline.

    Distinguished Scholars Program
    Prospective students are invited to apply to the Notre Dame Distinguished Scholars Program. This four year program provides a challenging curriculum in our high honors courses.     Liptak Scholarship Applications
    Prospective students are invited to apply for the Liptak Scholarship which is a $1,000 per year scholarship available to a student who has participated in a program (including school gym class) at the Cardinal Shehan Center.  Deadline information will be available in September.
